Sales and Diets

Standard

This is a great article from INC magazine about how creating a sales business (like mine) and starting a new diet/lifestyle (like mine) are similar.

WOW … interesting connection and briefly … here’s a few BAD things we tell ourselves to set ourselves up for failure.

1.  I like the goal, but I won’t do the work. (Too much effort required maybe?)

2.  That won’t work.  (Knocking it before trying it.)

3.  I know what I’m doing.  (The know-it-all mentality.)

4.  This time it’s different.  (Good reasons to fall-off plan/program.)

It’s a good article … ENJOY!

5 – 10

Just heard on the news that running 5 – 10 minutes a day can be beneficial for our heart health.  OK!  We all know that, don’t we?  So I walk the dog for somewhere between 2 1/2 – 3 miles …. I’m gonna try stepping it up a bit!  I think I can do this … What about YOU?  Let’s do this together and let me know how it goes!  Starting with 5 … Tomorrow!  Yep … I’m in for the night and once I’m in … I’m in!

Not any more!

There was a time when a party dinner plate filled with beef, chicken, veggies, salad, potatoes, and bread would have been the cats meow for me. Last night, however ... As DEE-luscious as it all was ... I just couldn't finish it all. Now the wine and awesome birthday cake afterwards ... That's a different story! I'm not friends with the weight scale today though.

I’m thrilled with my progress because more than one doctor has told me it’s SOOOO hard to beat being over-weight when I have that D2 thing going on.  I know it’s true because I have tried so many times to lose to no avail.  This time though … And I’m feeling YOUNG again!

You can do it too …

My new office! Come on in and stay awhile … not too long though … better to be out in the world doing what you are supposed to be doing with a joyful heart and a cheerful face! (Proverbs 15:13)

BiPD

June 25

Went to a seminar on Bi-Polar (now referred to as BiPD in the medical community) last week and am STILL processing the information. For starters, BiPD is no longer diagnosed as a psychological disorder … it is a medical disorder caused by genetics and chemical imbalances in the pre-frontal lobe of the brain. Interesting stuff.Do you know anyone with BiPD and what is life like to the best of your knowledge?

Taking care of myself!

Standard
I’ve learned it’s critical to my well-being to make time to take care of myself for rejuvenation. So with working a FT job 5 days/week, a PT job as often as possible (with boundaries of course), and running an awesomely fun and adventurous home-business as many hours a week as I desire … I have decided to make Sunday my day to replenish/refresh my soul, spirit, mind, heart, and physical body by doing whatever I have to do to take care of myself even it it’s NOTHING! What about you? Do you take time to do this and on what day … any favorite day of the week for YOU?

Skipping Breakfast

Standard
If you skip breakfast thinking that if you eat less you will lose weight, you could be in error. Missing that first meal of the day might actually contribute to weight GAIN because doing so can slow down your metabolism.
